  • Community Panel

recommends National-Charles for the False Creek Flats Arterial Route.

  • Park Board will

receive the panel presentation at a Special Meeting

New Plants – Echium Pininana

  • New biennial plants have been acquired;

life cycle is only two years and after they flower, they die.

  • Echiums are subtropical plants native to

La Palma in the Canary Islands.

  • Rare “Snow Tower” now in full bloom at

Bloedel Conservatory.

  • Tree Echiums have also been planted in

Morton Park, Queen Elizabeth Park and VanDusen Botanical Garden and expect them to flower in May.

Rangers just completed the Law Enforcement Bike Association Training which covers all aspects

patrol.

  • These Rangers will be

sharing their knowledge with other Bike Patrol Rangers.

  • The annual Cherry Blossom

Festival kicked off on April 4 and runs until May 5.

  • Park Board is a proud

sponsor of this event and home to the following events: Big Picnic at QE Park, Sakura Days at VanDusen, Bike the Blossoms from John Hendry Park to QE Park and Sakura Night, an annual fund raising event, on May 5 at Stanley Park Pavilion.
