  2. ARMAK Ltd British Manufacturer of ATEX Air Motors Armak Ltd was founded in 2007 as a joint venture by Krisch-Dienst GmbH and The Water Hydraulics Co. Ltd. Armak Ltd designs, manufactures, assembles and tests Air, Gas and Steam Motors at it’s manufacturing facility in Hull, East Yorkshire, UK. Armak Ltd currently manufactures Air Motors from 2kW to 16kW, Gas & patented Steam Motors from 2kW to 30kw. The complete range of motors can be supplied with patented valves and control systems, enabling accurate control and operation in all environments. The Air Motors can be supplied in accordance with ATEX Directive 94/4/EC, for use in potentially explosive environments for example in the offshore or mining industry. Armak Ltd engineers have over 30 years experience in supplying complete drive solutions from a single source. All products are supplied globally in accordance with customers exacting requirements and worldwide legislation.

  3. GEARED PISTON AIR MOTORS The latest technology in air motors … Armak Ltd has been continually developing a contact free rotary piston design of geared piston motor. The motors simple and compact design gives a longer lifespan with low operating and maintenance costs. The Armak motor range covers an extensive range of applications, they can also directly replace the RM radial piston motor offering greater power output. The torque is developed by one power piston which is transferred to the output shaft by a second contact free rotating piston via a precision synchronized gear train. Both pistons rotate without physical contact resulting in near frictionless operation producing torque efficiencies in excess of 98%.The result being long maintenance free operation without downtime. The totally closed motor housing without breather holes permits applications in wet or dirty surroundings without corrosion inside the motor. Armak building block design allows simple configurations to suit the individual application criteria. Control valves including Remote, Lever and Emergency stop are all bolt on options, Industry standard Brakes, Gears and Silencers are also available.

  4. Features of the new Technology … ・ Non vibrating operation throughout, even at high speeds. ・ Motor AGP-F-range with key and keyway shaft for belt or chain drive and mounting on brakes. ・ Contact free rotating piston, resulting in long lifetime with reduced maintenance. ・ Motor AGP-V-range with internal splined output and the option of flexible drive. ・ Completely enclosed motor casing preventing internal corrosion. Without the use of an internal oil sump. ・ Extensions for inline direct mounting of gearboxes or other ・ Compact design with total freedom of installation. equipment. ・ Configurations can be mounted in all orientations shaft ・ Infinitely variable control with Armak lever or remote control vertical or horizontal. valves including emergency stop shut off valve. ・ Usable speed ranges from 75 rpm, high start torque. ・ ATEX II cat. 2 GDcT5 is standard, ATEX I M2 can be supplied, valid under ATEX operating parameters. ・ Metric flange to IEC B5 configuration for standard gearbox input. SAE flange for pump mounting upon request. ・ Minimal maintenance with exceptional bearing and sealed for life construction.

  5. All of the above motors are produced to IEC B5 flange electric motor mounting configuration. This ensures ease of instillation with all industry standard transmission equipment. An additional range of motor interfaces, ensuring total interchangeability with the Globe radial piston motor are also available. (see table below)

  6. GAS/STEAM MOTORS The purpose of photovoltaic systems is the generating of electricity. Solar thermic Systems (collectors or mirrors) will produce heat. Combustion motor powered CPH produce both heat and electricity. ORC systems convert waste heat into electricity and are a proven technology, using turbines as a generator drive with total output often in the MW range. ORC systems with electric output in the range from 3 to 30 kW are rare at the moment. In this power range the use of turbines is questionable and other generator drives are difficult to find, the Armak product range is ideal for this output range. There are many heat sources in the Armak motor power range. Consider as example combustion engines in Combined Power and Heat Plants with typical drive power from 100 to 500 kW. These engines have an efficiency below 40%. The rest is wasted in the exhaust gases and in the cooling water. The conversion even of part of such energy into electricity is of major advantage. Armak Gas Motors can be driven by non corrosive gaseous media at temperatures below 150°C, with maximum pressures up to 15 bar. The technical details and product advantages are: – near frictionless torque producing motor parts resulting in long and maintenance free lifetime – completely enclosed motor casing –compact design and freedom of installation –can be supplied with magnetic coupling –metric flange + shaft
