  2. Into Reading Series - Vocabulary, comprehension and grammar. Quizzes and comprehension tests throughout the units. Reading: Monthly Reader’s Checklist - First one is due September 9th ● Writing: Students will be required to complete and type 1 to 2 writing pieces ● each month using Google Docs. This writing will be completed in class. However, it may need to be completed at home if time management is a problem. Vocabulary: Students will learn weekly vocabulary in class. ●

Achieve3000 ● Online reading tool based on a each students lexile level ● Students are required to complete two Achieve3000 lessons a week ● Students will have time in class Mon-Thurs as well as 1 computer lab time a week ● Students will need to complete the two lessons and their journal sheet to go along with it ● If students DO NOT finish in class, this will become extra homework ● Students may always complete Achieve3000 at home for extra practice!!

Arizona History Project-DUE MAY 4th Research Paper and Poster Directions: • Choose a place to visit in Arizona. • Travel to the location with your family. • Spend time exploring the area, taking many pictures, and reading about the location. Take at least one picture of the location with you in it!! • Pick up any brochures or postcards to help with your research paper and poster. When you return home… • Research your location using the Internet, books from the library, and resources you picked up while visiting the area. • Type a five paragraph (with many detailed sentences!) research paper about the area you visited. • Create a poster or Google Slides displaying pictures and information about your trip.

  10. Research Paper: The first paragraph should give the basic details about history (how it • was formed or built, the year, where it is located, the best time of year to visit). The second paragraph should include what makes this site so unique • to Arizona and why it is important The third paragraph should tell 5 new facts you learned about where • you visited. The fourth paragraph should include why you think people should visit • this location. The fifth paragraph should tell what your family enjoyed most about • your visit. Poster OR Google Slides: This should include all of your pictures with captions underneath them. Any postcards or brochures you collected while on the trip. (If Google Slides, then just bring to share)

  12. ● Chromebooks will be used in the classroom daily for Achieve3000, Imagine Math, Google Classroom etc. ● Students who do not appropriately use technology in the classroom will lose the privilege to use technology at school, which will greatly affect their grade.

  13. ● Math: (daily) and turned in the next day ● Reading: (daily) 20 minutes each night and a monthly Reader’s Response Checklist *If homework is one day late, it will receive half credit. Projects: ● Arizona History Project - due May 4th

  14. If possible, try to notify if known ahead of time. Students will have the number of days they were absent to make up the work.

  15. Please contact in advance; any snacks will be shared during afternoon recess. Please keep in mind we have serious peanut and nut allergies.

  16. Students will be able to have a morning snack daily before specials. Snack will be eaten outside. Please make sure that it is a healthy snack. Cookies, candy, chips and other unhealthy snacks will not be allowed.

  18. ● Please check Infinite Campus often! All grades will be updated weekly! ● Weekly newsletters will be sent home on Friday afternoons ● Please sign agendas each night. Notes may be written in agendas. ● Google Classroom will be used for in-class assignments daily. ● Please email with any questions or concerns!

  19. • Agenda- Will be filled out daily. Please review this with your child each night prior to signing it. When homework is turned in and agenda is signed they will receive decision dollars. If not signed or homework is not turned in student will lose decision dollars. • Late Work – Students must turn in assignments on their due dates. Any late work of any type is worth ½ credit.

  21. We are in need of donations for our classroom auctions! The items should be small and INEXPENSIVE (fun stickers, trinkets, cool pens, erasers, keychains, etc.) The items do not need to be brand new, just clean! Think Dollar Tree and dollar bins at Target and Walmart! Thank you!
