He was a pioneering materials scientist, who contributed to the development of lighter, more efficient green engine technology in the automobile industry. Hidetsugu Yagi (1886 ‐ 1976) Inventor of the Yagi ‐ Uda Antenna. The antenna has now been used all over the world to receive television signals, and led to the development of radar technology. 4
