  • The area is already rezoned and developers are actively lodging

applications, therefore there is no waiting period or a ‘do nothing’ option.

  • Unlike many other urban renewal areas Fishermans Bend is not largely
  • wned by the public sector. Instead more than 90% is owned by the

private sector with more than 300 individual land owners.

The Opportunity

Primary and secondary schools across Fishermans Bend A target of 80 per cent of transport movements to be made by public transport, walking or cycling Open space within 200 meters walking distance for all residents and works. Diverse and affordable housing opportunities At least one activity centre in each precinct including retail, jobs and community services. An integrated transport strategy including cycle paths, tram lines and an underground rail line. Delivery of catalyst projects – the Ferrars street Education and Community Precinct is just the first of these to be rolled out.
