Our Resilience Fellow s: the idea 1 0 0 Fellow s - am bassadors on RE • Connect (inter)national networks • Bridge between research and practice • Knowledge dissemination • I ncubator for partnerships and projects Three types of fellow ships 1 . Young: between 3rd year of PhD until 7 years after PhD OR < 10 years’ experience in practice Call 2 . Research: 7-20 years after PhD OR 10-25 years of experience as practitoner. 3 . Am bassador: High-level executives and outstanding researchers who shape and influence research, policy and practice

  13. Results of previous calls • 2019 – UTwente (3) and TUDelft (6) only – Diverse quality; mix of researchers and practitioners • 2020 – Template for applications – Call between mid April - end June – 12 eligible applications (6 TUD, 5 UT, 1 Tue) ! Another call expected in Septem ber 2 0 2 0

Visiting research from China (1 week stay) in Construction Management & Engineering group: publications on climate change impacts on pavement life cycle. 3. Visiting practitioner from Mozambique (to be planned) in Marine and Fluvial Systems group: joint project on climate-resilience and water management

  15. Fellowships at TUD Do’s and Don’ts - Attracting people by directly contacting them. - Do not rely on generic messages on linked in / twitter / website - Extend and build on existing relations and experiences
