The purpose of the 2018 Facilities Planning Committee is:

• to establish a shared understanding
• f our current reality related to

FWPS facilities

• to establish a shared vision of future
• pportunities and possibilities

related to FWPS facilities

• to make a recommendation to the

community and the Superintendent for Phase 2 school construction, remodeling and/or modernization for voter consideration in 2018.

Federal Way Public Schools

• A minimum of 6 acres of

buildable land for an elementary school is scarce.

• Development issues impact

the time and cost to build a new school.

• Adding capacity to several

schools appears to be a more feasible solution to address the majority of need for elementary classrooms. expanding elementary capacity
