Today’s Gospel reading comes from St. Matthew. In the Gospel today, Jesus invited Peter, Andrew, John, and James out in their boats preparing nets for

  • fishing. He called them and asked them to “Come

follow me”! Jesus told them that he would show them how to fish People. All leave their families and way of life to follow Jesus in teaching the Good News.

12 Nang mabalitaan ni Jesus na inaresto si John,

pumunta sya sa Galilee. 13 Pero nag-stay sya sa bayan ng Capernaum imbes na sa Nazareth. Malapit ang bayang ito sa Lake Galilee na sakop ng Zebulun at

  • Naphtali. 14 Kaya natupad ang sinabi ni Prophet Isaiah,

15 “Mga lupain ng Zebulun at Naphtali, daan na papuntang dagat, sa kabilang side ng Jordan, Galilee, lupain ng mga Gentiles!

18 Habang naglalakad si Jesus sa Lake Galilee, nakita

nya ang magkapatid na sina James at John na mga anak ni

  • Zebedee. Nasa bangka sila kasama ang tatay nila at

nag-aayos ng mga lambat nila at sumunod sila kay Jesus.

19 Sabi ni Jesus sa kanila, “Sumunod kayo sa akin, at turuan

ko kayong mangisda. 20 Iniwan nila agad ang mga lambat nila at sumunod sila kay Jesus.

21 Sa paglalakad nya, nakita ni Jesus ang

magkakapatid na sina James at John na mga anak ni

  • Zebedee. Nasa bangka sila kasama ang tatay nila at

nag-aayos ng mga lambat. Tinawag din ni Jesus sina James at John.

22 Iniwan nila agad ang bangka, pati ang tatay nila,

at sumunod kay Jesus.

23 Nag-ikot si Jesus sa buong Galilee. Nagturo sya sa

mga synagogue at nag-preach ng Magandang Balita tungkol sa paghahari ng Diyos. Pinagaling din nya ang lahat ng klase ng sakit at karamdaman ng mga tao.
