Progress on JodiGas • Countries/economies participating JoilOil, 72 of which produce and/or consume natural gas • Trial data collection on natural gas started in Dec 2009 I n t er n a t i o n a l E n er g y Fo r u m • 42 countries/economies participate • Gas Data Transparency Conference, Moscow, 26 Oct 2010 • Participating organisations continue their work with member countries • Need for a capacity building programme like JodiOil • Collaborate with the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) to involve more producing countries in Gas in JODI-Gas • The ongoing work will be continued and will hopefully result in the first launch of JodiGas before the end of 2011 www.ief.org Extraordinary IEF Ministerial Meeting | 22 FEBRUARY 2011 | RIYADH

Conclusion Organisations are committed to: • keep training statisticians in charge of Jodi • develop new tools and practices, to check regularly Jodi data and I n t er n a t i o n a l E n er g y Fo r u m streamline data submission • enhance interaction with data users • upgrade Jodi related platforms • release to public some of the additional data points by the next JodiOil Conference (fall 2011) Organisations call on participating countries/economies to: • ensure that administrations and organisations in charge of energy data collection are better equipped and staffed • implement an appropriate regulation • address confidentiality issues • achieve a target of 3 smiley faces by the end of 2011 www.ief.org Extraordinary IEF Ministerial Meeting | 22 FEBRUARY 2011 | RIYADH
