COLLEGE TOURS Early exposure to a college makes a difgerence in college and career planning and awareness, especially for low-income, fjrst-generation, and

  • ther under-represented groups of students

who may have little exposure to the college

  • environment. Delivered in a fun and mobile-friendly

format, college tours will be delivered in way that is both developmentally appropriate for the age group and that matches both the teachers’, parents’, and students’ interests. CLASS AUDITS Class audits expose student to class content and provide the opportunity to test out college by giving them the opportunity to: 1. try courses ofgered in a particular major,

  • 2. experience the college classroom environment,
  • 3. talk to other students, and
  • 4. form an idea of the kind of preparation needed

for college classes. FACULTY AND STAFF PRESENTATIONS Our faculty members possess diverse expertise in a variety of subject areas. Additionally, our stafg coach students on a variety of topics, including fjnancial aid, the admissions process, and career mapping. We will arrange for a faculty or stafg member to come to your local school or organization location to deliver a presentation in person or to present virtually to your classroom or student group about a particular topic. Additionally, you may bring students to campus to engage faculty members

  • n-site.

FACULTY CONSULTATIONS We will also partner expert faculty members with your organization or teachers to ofger guidance on projects or classes.

D’Youville is committed to contributing to students’ educational pipeline. We have created age-appropriate

to engage in college experiences in various subject areas. Additionally, students will be acquainted with the college environment, which will allow them to explore difgerent careers and topics of interest.

SCIENCE SCOUTS CAMP (GRADES K-4) In this four-day camp, students will explore and learn about biology, chemistry and physics. This camp will take students on fjeld trips, will engage them in experiments, and all students get to take part in Science Invention Day. INTERPROFESSIONAL SUMMER CAMP (GRADES 9-12) One-part college preparation and one-part career exploration, this four-day program prepares students academically and personally for college. Academic parts of the program include enrichment courses in mathematics, science, written and

  • ral communication, career research, personal

and professional development, and activities that support college planning. Personal parts of the program include fjnancial literacy, application practice, and career discovery. With various tracks for high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, this program ofgers something for all age groups and enough variety to keep students wanting to come back each summer. EARLY COLLEGE BRIDGE PROGRAM The Early College Bridge Program is conducted in partnership with local high schools. This program is part college preparation and part career exploration. Students take part in the Explore College Summer Camp before their Junior and Senior Years. High school juniors and seniors have a chance to earn college credits while still in high school that can lead to an associate’s degree. This whole-student program partners college faculty with high school teachers to ofger transferable college-credit courses during the junior and senior years, prepares high school teachers to teach at the college level, and ofgers college academic services to assist students.

BRIDGE PROGRAM EARLY COLLEGE

Earn college credit & a college certificate by the time you graduate high school. Choose a pathway and track in healthcare or liberal arts. Attend summer camps that include field trips and hands-on experiences. Career exploration and college preparation experiences & coaching.

COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS D’Youville ofgers a variety of workshops for adults, ranging from going back to college, fjnancial literacy, job searches, career mapping, communication skills, creating change, becoming a leader, starting a business, and technology skills development delivered by students and faculty. Examples include:

  • Community health worker training
  • How to navigate the college application process
  • Basic computer skills
  • Nutrition & meal prepping on a budget
  • Budgeting and personal fjnance
  • Free chiropractic clinic

COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES

D’Youville is committed to contributing to developing the human capital in our

  • region. We have created

experiences for adults to develop various skills and knowledge to help them be successful in job searches, career changes, personal development, and in supporting their families.

COLLEGE-BOUND PARENT ACADEMY The Parent Academy is held on the fjrst Saturday of the months (September – June). Parents are exposed to a variety of workshops specifjcally designed to provide efgective strategies for supporting the college bound

  • student. Collectively, students and parents will

be involved in a variety of speaker seminars to

  • fger additional expertise and useful resources,

as well as trips to tour D’Youville.
