  2. ِرَفَْسلا ُبادآ — First: In Islam, travelling for ziyarat or other journeys is highly recommended: — أﺄ اﺎهﻪِبﺐ َنﻦوﻮُعﻊَمﻢْسﺲَيﻲ ٌنﻦاﺎذﺬآﺂ ْوﻮَأﺄ اﺎهﻪِبﺐ َنﻦوﻮُلﻞِقﻖْعﻊَيﻲ — Have they not travelled in the land so that they should have hearts with which to understand, or ears with which to hear (22:46) — رﺮ اﺎوﻮُمﻢَنﻦغﻎَتﺖوﻮ اﺎوﻮُّحﺢِصﺺَتﺖ . — The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Travel and you will be healthy and wealthy.’ [Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 17470]

  3. ِرَفَْسلا ُبادآ — Second: The purpose of travelling has to be permissible… ¡ According to Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq AS, travelling should be for 3 purposes only: ÷ If one is going to get salvation from that travel ÷ To look after the affairs of economy (livelihood) ÷ For recreation, provided it is permissible يﻲفﻒ ُلﻞُجﺞَّرﺮلﻞاﺎ ِجﺞُرﺮخﺦَيﻲ اﺎلﻞ :) ُمﻢاﺎلﻞَسﺲّلﻞاﺎ ِهﻪيﻲَلﻞَعﻊ ( ٌّيﻲلﻞعﻊ ُمﻢاﺎمﻢإﺈلﻞاﺎ ِهﻪِتﺖاﺎلﻞَصﺺوﻮ ِهﻪِنﻦيﻲِدﺪ ىﻰلﻞعﻊ ِهﻪيﻲفﻒ ُفﻒاﺎخﺦَيﻲ ٍرﺮَفﻒَسﺲ 'A man must never go on a journey in which he has cause to fear for his faith or his prayer.’ [Bihar al-Anwar, v. 76, p. 283, no. 2]

  4. ِرَفَْسلا ُبادآ — Third: Prepare before you go… ¡ Sadaqa before you leave: ÷ Imam as-Sadiq AS: 'Commence your journey with the giving of charity, and leave when the time seems right, for verily you buy the safety of your journey [with charity].’ [Bihar al-Anwar, v. 100, p. 103, no. 5] ¡ Make sure you look into all details of your trip: ÷ www.halaltrip.com ¡ Supplications

  5. ِرَفَْسلا ُبادآ — Fourth: While you are on your journey ¡ There has to be one person in charge ¡ The one in charge is the servant of the group ¡ Be courteous and friendly with those you are travelling with ÷ Imam al-Sadiq (AS) narrated that Luqman said to his son, 'When you travel in the company of people, consult with them frequently about each of your affairs, make them smile often, and be generous in sharing your provisions with them. When they call you, answer them, and when they ask for your help, assist them. Try to outdo them in three things: long periods of silence, an abundance of prayer, and open-handedness with them with whatever you possess of riding animal, wealth or food.’ [Bihar al-Anwar, v. 76, p. 271, no. 28] ¡ Bring back something for your family

  6. ِرَفَْسلا ُبادآ — Fifth: Reflect on your trip after you come back ¡ Make notes of your reflection ¡ Share with others your experiences and difficulties
