The Esperanza 5K supports Juntos Servimos, led by Dr. Nancy Rodriguez and Larry Cox, in their mission to bring PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALING to families in northern Mexico suffering the impacts of extreme poverty and violence. The Casa Bugambilia community in Matamoros, and recently begun efforts in Cuidad Juarez, provide HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, FOOD AND WATER, and SHELTER to families that would otherwise go without life’s necessities.

A Healing Community

• Learning readiness classes for preschool children
• Financial assistance for older students
• Shelter and care for children with special needs
• Food, water and necessities to support healing

Matamoros

• Thousands of medical consultations annually
• Continuing in-depth care for over 100 people
• Residential shelter and medical care for the ill and

abandoned

• Supplemental education classes
• Medical care for children removed from their homes due to

abuse or neglect

• Wheelchairs and mobility aids
• Food, water, clothing, school supplies and emergency

necessities to support healing and learning

Ciudad Juarez

Expanding the healing community to the colonias of Juarez. Over one-third of the population lives in poverty. Over 62,000 live in extreme poverty.

Juntos Servimos - “Together We Serve”

Eliminating Barriers to Physical and Spiritual Wholeness for Persons in Need in Northern Mexico

• An IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Dallas, Texas
• All volunteer
• Juntos Servimos has raised over $1.5 million since its founding

• 4,200 member Congregation Located in the Heart of Plano, Texas
• Co-founders of the Mission in Matamoros and Ciudad Juarez
• Founder and Host of the annual Esperanza fundraising event begun in 2010

The Esperanza 5K is a joint effort between Custer Road UMC and Juntos Servimos, raising over $135,000. 100% of the amount raised goes directly to help families in Mexico.
