THE PROBLEM – A substantial loss of grid power from closing San Onofre Nuclear Generation Station (SONGS) This particularly affected grid reliability in Orange County Particular strain during summer weekday afternoons or “super-peak” periods when energy demand is highest THE SOLUTION – Reducing customer use through a first of its kind, “all-source” solicitation called the Local Capacity Requirements (LCR) initiative Included generation and demand-side management technology Sterling Analytics won LCR contracts to provide customer incentives
