The anti-theft protection that creates added value

A leading car rental company in Europe was faced with theft issues. Equipping their vehicles with GPS trackers was not a solution, as the GPS devices were easily found and removed by thieves. This resulted in high costs incurred by the customers, because the car renter cannot insure itself against the risk of theft. Kizy’s trackers do not need an external power supply and can be hidden anywhere. Due to low energy consumption, they can operate for months without power supply.

Complete control for better inventory management

A well-known construction machines renter asked Kizy to equip their assets with trackers. The company wanted to acquire data about the actual position of their assets to improve their inventory management and prevent theft. A tracker is attached to each construction machine and reports its position once per day. This enabled the machines renter to keep an overview of its inventory, reduce the search effort for individual asset by up to 60% and even retrieve stolen assets.

Use Case: Raw materials

A transnational food and beverage company based in Switzerland needed a solution to mitigate the financial consequences of adverse events during the transportation of raw materials (cocoa and coffee). The company sought to collect data that would enable to quickly establish responsibilities and improve operational processes. Prior to Kizy, the company used GPS trackers to monitor the temperature, humidity conditions and localization of some of its cocoa shipments transported by container. Due to complex handling and costs of the solution (mounting, dismounting, return, low autonomy), a large-scale deployment of GPS trackers would not have been economically feasible. Kizy provides the customer with an easy and low-cost monitoring process.

For every shipment, Kizy Tracking sent pre-configured trackers packed into envelopes that would then be placed inside the containers, to be sent to the place of origin. Once at the destination, the documents are removed and the envelope containing the tracker was simply sent back Kizy Tracking for free. This enables the company to deploy Kizy on a larger scale, collecting huge amounts of valuable data to optimize their processes, reduce their risks and save costs. One additional advantage is the detection of deviation in agreed delivery processes by the transporter, which can lead to delays in deliveries by more than 15%.

Use Case: Automotive manufacturer

Advanced supply chain visibility is of key importance for just-in-time manufacturing in the automotive industry. A German manufacturer of premium cars wanted to get better data to manage their inventory of many thousands of component parts used in the manufacturing process. These parts are produced in one factory in Germany and then sent to the production sites and subcontractors’ workshops across Europe and beyond. The use of RFID tags was not practicable because of the various locations out of the company’s premises. GPS trackers were also not an option due to their size, limited coverage inside factories and low autonomy.
