Internship Program & celebrates 40 years of helping students achieve success. 2020 JDG celebrates the 2010 successful launch of C.O.R.E. Internship JDG expanded to serve Program. middle school students. 2015 1992 JDG expanded into Vocational Technical JDG piloted the Multi-Year High School Program. JDG includes a one year follow-up after graduation. 2005 JDG partnered with DOL for out of school youth in Kent & Sussex Counties. 1978 The creation of Jobs for Delaware Graduates, Inc. (JDG).

  13. FOSTER CARE PROGRAM • Serving students, ages 16-21 in Kent & Sussex Counties. • Career Placement Advisor coordinates referrals from Independent Living Workers. • Partners with Delaware Youth Advisory Council (YAC).

  14. YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM Job Placement Provide job leads along with application and interview assistance. Verify employment with employers.​ Work-Related Experience Mentoring Assist students in Specialist provide identifying a beneficial mentoring Specialist placement such as a job provide mentoring and shadow, volunteer guidance to remove opportunity or training to student barriers to success.​ gain job readiness skills.

  15. CAREER PLACEMENT ADVISOR SUPPORT The CPA’s encourage post -secondary education and continuous employment. ✓ Assist with classroom activities (i.e. mock interviews)​. ✓ Provide one year of follow- up assistance​. ✓ Discuss post-graduation follow-up opportunities. ✓ Meet with students to provide workforce education. ✓ Conduct assessments to determine skills and interests. ✓ Prepare students for interviews. ✓ Schedule college tours. ✓ Assist in completing applications. ✓ Provide information for entry into college or military. ✓ Meet with businesses to determine youth progress. ✓ Counsel youth regarding needed improvements for employment or student success.
