NEW Employer ELIGIBILITY Criteria • All public and private organisations , including NGOs , are eligible to participate as long as : • Employers must not have redundancies in a similar position to that being applied for in the last 6 months; • Employers are not blacklisted by the Corporation in accordance to the ETC Black listing Policy

EMPLOYER SELECTION CRITERIA Priority will be given to: • Private sector. • Employers who offer greater prospects for employment. • Employers applying for vacancies in line with the job preferences of registered unemployed job seekers. • Employers putting forward a training program beneficial to the participant.

  7. JOB EXPERIENCE SCHEME – ESF72 School leavers undergoing job interviews tend to meet problems due to lack of work experience. The JES was introduce to give new job seekers the experience they need. Eligibility Youth job seekers (16 – 24 years) with no experience in their job preferences.

  8. JOB EXPERIENCE SCHEME (cont.) Duration of Programme Maximum duration of 13 consecutive weeks, based on a 20-hour week (4 hrs a day). The employer is to provide the in house training and the participant will be paid � 46.58 /Lm20 per week directly from ETC each month for the duration of the training program.

  9. WORK START SCHEME The Work Start Scheme was introduced for adults who have been out of the workforce for a long time, and those that have never worked in their line of studies.

  10. WORK START SCHEME (cont.) Eligibility Adult job seekers (25 years and over) who have been inactive for the past 5 years. Registered adults with academic qualifications who have never worked in their line of their course they have followed.

Duration of Programme Maximum duration of 13 consecutive weeks, based on a 20-hour week (4 hrs a day) The employer is to provide the in house training and the participant will be paid � 34.94 / LM 15 per week directly from ETC each month for the duration of the training program.

  12. PRIVATE SECTOR PLACEMENT SCHEME The scheme provides jobseekers with work experience and the opportunity to increase their skills at the workplace. The employer benefits from the output of the jobseeker and the possibility to observe his/her performance with a view to possible recruitment. Expression of interest - Employers interested to join this scheme should fill up the relevant application form and send it back to the Schemes Unit by Friday 29 th February at the latest.

  13. PRIVATE SECTOR PLACEMENT SCHEME (cont.) Eligibility The Private Sector Placement Scheme is open to: Youths aged between 16 and 24 who have been registering for more than six months and adults aged 25 and over registering for twelve or more months.

  14. PRIVATE SECTOR PLACEMENT SCHEME (cont.) Duration of Programme The placement can be of a maximum duration of 12 consecutive weeks, based on a 30-hour week (i.e. 6 hrs a day). The ETC will be giving participants � 105 / LM45.08 per week for the duration of the scheme. This will not interfere with other benefits received by participants.

  15. BRIDGING THE GAP The scheme is designed to support a trainee in the transition period from unemployment to employment. It allows the employer to evaluate the performance of the trainee in the workplace, prior to proper engagement. Eligibility Registered Disabled Persons who are registering as unemployed

  16. BRIDGING THE GAP Duration of Programme The placement can be of a minimum duration of 13 weeks and a maximum of 26 consecutive weeks (i.e. six months). The ETC will be giving 80% of the minimum wage to participants. Trainees however will have to renounce the rights to any social security benefits throughout the work exposure Phase should these exceed the minimum wage.
