  • Electronic visit verification (EVV) is a technology solution which

electronically verifies that home and community-based services are actually delivered to people needing those services by documenting the precise time service begins and ends.

  • Includes multiple point-of-care visit verification technologies,

such as telephonic, mobile and fixed visit verification inputs

W hy y is EVV required?

  • Section 12006 of the 21st Century Cures Act requires all states

implement an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) solution to manage their Personal Care services by January 1, 2019, and for all Home Health services by January 1, 2023.

  • States that do not implement EVV will incur a reduction of

Federal funding.

EVV Subcom m it t ee Planning

  • EVV Communication Plan
  • As part of the Department’s implementation of EVV, the Department

will be developing an EVV communication plan. This plan will identify reasonable outlets to communicate implementation progress updates to stakeholders. Currently, the Department is working on creating a EVV message for the Department’s stakeholder bulletin, an EVV website, and increasing the EVV email stakeholder list.

  • EVV Training Plan
  • To ensure proper training of Colorado members and providers, the

Department request the help of stakeholders to develop a reasonable training plan for EVV. This plan will look at different states EVV training procedures and identify the best processes for Colorado.

design of Colorado’s EVV. This subcommittee will address members and providers concerns, as well as take feedback from the development of EVV.

Directed Attendant Support Services. This meeting is an opportunity for stakeholders to work with our Financial Management Service vendors and give input on the system design of EVV.
