Studying the MSc in Innovation and Research in Informatics (MIRI) The MSc in HPC trains specialists in parallel programming and design of computer architecture. Learning cutting-edge HPC technologies and skills facilitates the incorporation to referent research centers and companies that will address the next societal challenges using HPC as a key tool. Duration 2 year full time program Team & Facilities BSC experts will teach at the Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (BarcelonaTech, UPC) and students will have access to the BSC HPC facilities. Admission process & Scholarships The postgraduate course requirements and scholarships details are at http://www.fib.upc.edu/en/masters/miri
Bachelor final project placements To finish the degree students can design and undertake a directed project aimed at consolidating and applying the concepts in any of the research areas in BSC (i.e. Life, Computer, Earth Sciences and Applications for Science and Engineering) Master final project placements Students of the MSc in Innovation and Research in Informatics (MIRI) or MSc in similar areas can held a placement in any of the BSC research departments.
PhD Opportunities BSC has exiting opportunities for PhD studies in the areas of Supercomputing, HPC or the application areas of Life Sciences, Earth Sciences and Computer Applications in Science and Engineering. Postdoc positions We offer postdoct fellowships in collaboration with “la Caixa” Foundation, CONACYT, “Marie Curie” and "Juan de la Cierva” programs and various research projects and networks we offer doctoral and postdoc fellowships.

PRACE Advanced Training Centers The PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe designated 6 Advanced Training Centers: Barcelona Supercomputing Center (Spain), CINECA - Consorzio Interuniversitario (Italy), CSC - IT Center for Science Ltd (Finland), EPCC at the University of Edinburgh (UK), Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (Germany) and Maison de la Simulation (France). Mission of PATCs Carry out and coordinate training and education activities that foster the efficient usage of the infrastructure available through PRACE. The long-term vision is that such centers will become the hubs and key drivers of European HPC education.
