New Initiatives for 2013 NHMS Continues to Add Services for Its Members: • Employment Contracting Resource – 1/2013 • New Website/eNews Update/Social Media Platform – 3/2013 • NHMS-IS Personal Insurance (Home-Auto-Boat-Umbrella) – 8/2013 • docbookMD – 8/2013 • Wine Tasting Fund-raiser/Social – 4/2013 • Medical Malpractice Support Group – ETA Winter 2014 • Reimbursement Contracting Resource – ETA Fall 2013/Winter 2014 • WFEA Call-in Talk Show – On-Call with the N.H. Medical Society

New Initiatives for 2013 Employment Contracting Resource – 1/2013:  Intended to help physicians better understand their employment contracts  Should not be viewed as a “wedge” but rather an educational tool  NHMS has negotiated a flat fee of $650 for a complete legal review of an employment contract and/or $250 per hour to retain counsel  Over 50 resource manuals have been distributed to NHMS members!

New Initiatives for 2013 New Website/eNews Update/Social Media Platform – 3/2013:  Culmination of several years’ work by the NHMS Communications Task Force  New website allows for real-time updates  eNews Update in a standard, easy-to-read format  Social Media slow start but starting to take-hold:  Facebook – 71  Twitter – 133  LinkedIn – 13  June 2013 mailing to all NHMs members promoting these communication vehicles

New Initiatives for 2013 NHMS-IS Personal Insurance – 8/2013:  Launched in response to 2011 member survey  Offered through Willis Personal Lines/WPL  Home-Auto-Boat-Umbrella  NHMS-member discounts  NHMS-dedicated team  Funding the NHMS mission! New Initiatives for 2013 docbookMD – 8/2013:  Smartphone app exclusively for NHMS members in N.H.  Lose the Texting!  HIPAA-secure communication  Ability to efax to the EHR with direct protocol feature coming Fall 2013  NHMS adoption strong out of the gate:  100+ NHMS physicians signed-up in the first two weeks!

New Initiatives for 2013 Wine Tasting Fund-raiser/Social – 4/2013:  New annual event launched in 2013  Giving Back is the theme  President picks a cause/charity outside of the practice of medicine  NHMS staff organizes the event, coordinates with the charity  Primary Goal: Give Back – Secondary Goal: Build Social Capital  2013 Event:  Beneficiary: Sheila Stanley Community Counseling Fund  Location: Concord Country Club, Concord, N.H.  $5,000 raised/80+ attendees  2014 Event (September 2014):  Beneficiary: Safe Sports Network  Location: Manchester Country Club, Bedford, N.H.

New Initiatives for 2013/2014 Medical Malpractice Support Group (January 2014):  Free member benefit for NHMS members  Clinical premise which protects confidentiality  Born out of member-need  Malpractice carrier support Reimbursement Contracting Resource:  Fall 2013 / Winter 2014 Launch  Similar to employment contracting resource  Educational tools  Free to NHMS members  Discounted legal fees

  16. New Initiatives for 2013/2014 WFEA Call-in Talk Show: On-Call with the N.H. Medical Society  January 2014 Launch  Wednesday mornings, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM  NHMS EVP to Host – Guest will be physicians and healthcare experts  Audience is 55+  Goal: • Build awareness of the New Hampshire Medical Society • Raise awareness about important public health issues • Increase understanding of public policy and health systems issues • Provide a forum for balanced exploration of controversial issues • Increase awareness of the training and roles of physicians in the U.S. healthcare system.
