2015-16 Focus Areas and Accomplishments

  • Led the Everyday Mathematics 4 (EM4) implementation
  • Revised math report cards for K-5 aligned to EM4 and Common Core State

Standards for Mathematics

  • Evaluation and development of a cohesive math acceleration plan

including a compacted Math 6/7 course

  • Added a summer Pre-Algebra course
  • Development of a K-5 and 6-8 Math Instructional Framework
  • Supporting differentiated math support opportunities

2016-17 Focus Areas and Goals

  • Improve core classroom instruction for all students:

○ Provide coaching and professional development with a focus on instructional strategies that promote equity and exemplify high expectations ○ Identify and further develop work related to the Common Core Math Practices

  • Increase cross grade-level articulation with an initial focus on 5th to 6th

grade transition

○ Develop a clearer understanding of what students know and can do at they enter 6th grade ○ Identify and/or develop tools that will provide feedback on these areas of learning

  • Support development and year 1 implementation of the Compacted Math
