Students who graduate in Specialized Translation will acquire the competences and develop the abilities needed to play an active role on the global language industry scene

  • you will be able to translate, adapt, revise and proof-

read both written and multimedia/audiovisual texts, use state-of-the-art tools and documentation resources and critically evaluate translation quality and choices;

  • you will become familiar with the technological aids,

working methods and theoretical presuppositions (including ethical considerations) that are mainstream in the translation profession.

Tecniche editoriali (Publishing Techniques)

Two units: 1) focussing on the basic elements of publishing techniques through analysis of the different actors involved in the process (editors, literary agents, translators, publishers, etc.); 2) direct experience of all these steps by simulating the editing process of a novel.

Linguistica dei media (Media Linguistics)

Critical thinking about the relation between language and the media, language features and text genres, with a specific focus on TV and newspapers.
