Life inequalities indicators • 9.3 years difference in life expectancy for men living in the most and least deprived areas (Belfast). • In 2010 Belfast North & West had the highest rates of self-harm in NI; while Belfast East had the highest suicide rate in NI • 27% of women smoke during pregnancy in the most deprived areas, compared to 7% in the least (NI, 2013) • 25% gap in cancer incidence (NI) • Alcohol relate deaths in Belfast North were twice the regional average (2001-10) www.belfastcity.gov.uk
