The older population is
- increasing. By 2020,
20% of Delaware’s total population will be adults 65 and over.

Often, the 65+ demographic and people with disabilities are intertwined. Consequently, as the senior demographic continues to increase so will people with disabilities. As individuals continue to retire and move to Delaware, public transportation, as an alternative to driving, will become increasingly more important. 69,000 veterans live in Delaware and account for nearly 10% of the state’s
- population. There is one
Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital located in Wilmington and 2 CBOCs in Kent and Sussex County. People living in poverty are spread throughout the state, yet there are high concentrations of households without vehicles in parts of both the cities of Wilmington and Dover.
