MANUFACTURING PROCESS

  • The plant designed for fractionating (Distilling) various types & grades of Hydrocarbon solvents into various

types & grades of Specialty petroleum Solvents (Industrial Grade) which are used in various types of chemical Industries such as Paints, Textile, Printing Inks, etc. operate on batch wise basis. The details of the plant operation are described in the following paragraphs.

  • The plant contains distillation column special type of packing material for better mass transfer & separation.
  • The manufacturing process involves following stages:
  • Charging Hydrocarbon Solvents / Chemicals from storage tank to distillation kettle.
  • Heating of Hydrocarbon Solvents / Chemicals by hot thermic fluid slowly.
  • Vapors are then passed through the Distillation column.
  • Vapor formed during the process is collected in Cooling water Condenser, where the vapor are condensed

and then passed through the Product Cooler & Bottoms Condenser and a part of it through the Vent Condenser.

  • Collection of different fractions of Hydrocarbon Solvents from distillation column in bulk storage tanks.

Different fractions are collected at different temperature range as per customer’s requirement.

  • As per the requirements from customers the specific fraction is blended to formulate to the required

specialty petroleum solvents

OPERATIONS

  • Raw pentane is tested in unloaded in storage tanks after measurements.
  • Raw Pentane is charged into Kettle as per required batch size.
  • Thermic fluid & Cooling water circulation is started for process.
  • Top temperature of distillation column is maintained at specific temperature where pentane is separated and

satisfies specification of end user mainly this product is name under D Sol Pentane.

  • Further after recovery of pentane, N- hexane fraction is separated by maintaining specific temperature in

process where N Hexane reach fraction is separated and satisfies specification of end user mainly this product is name under D Sol N Hexane.

  • At different stage of process during the production of D Sol Pentane & D Sol N Hexane , a intermediate

fraction is collected which is mainly a mixture of impure Pentane and Hexane majorly and blended to satisfies end user requirement in paint and thinner industry to get cheaper hydrocarbon solvent, this product is name under D Sol 50.

  • As and when specific requirement of Petroleum Ether is received and alternate or equivalent mixture of

above pentane and hexane stream is so formulated to give boiling point result of required specification of 40 60 and vice versa with 50 70, the indicator 40 60 and 50 70 , is nothing but define the range of boiling point of blend of pentane and hexane stream with some addition of specific fraction from pentane and hexane production process, and satisfies specification of end user mainly this product is name under D Sol Petroleum Ether 40 60 and D Sol Petroleum Ether 50 70.

  • Similarly other product DSOL Pentane CP-IP-95 & DSOL Pentane CP-IP-75 is produce by distillation of crude

Cyclopentane and formulated with D Sol Pentane to required specification to satisfy end user requirement in appliance industry.
