DATA, MONTORING AND EVALUATION GROUP (DMEG)

 Established in September 2016  UNFPA – Chairing Agency  Members – All 17 residing UN agencies in the Pacific. (M&E experts,

statisticians, data and programme specialists)

 Coordinated Technical Support and Advise on the Data Monitoring &

Evaluation requirements of the UNPS and the SDGs (UCG/ Regional SDG Task Force/ PSSC)

EXPECTED RESULTS OF DMEG

 To strengthen PICTs capacity in the areas related to the SDG Goals (17.18.1), Targets

and Indicators, Pacific Sustainable Indicators and the UNPS indicators.

 To support PICTs to produce and to regularly update national data profiles including

SDG Goals, targets and indicators.

 To strengthen partnerships and policy dialogue on data with national and regional

stakeholders.

 To support PICTs for mapping (in collaboration with the SPC Statistics for Development

Division) of all major data related investments envisaged between now and 2030.

 To improve delivery of technical support to PICTs in the monitoring of their SDGs through

enhanced support to their efforts to strengthen their national statistical systems (data ecosystem).
