Project Background

The need for improvements was identified by several entities.

• Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
• 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan
• Identified the need for an additional north-south corridor
• Wellness Way Area Plan (WWAP)
• Identified as an area with significant economic development opportunities
• Mix of residential, commercial, office, education, medical and recreational

uses to provide employment in Lake County

• Identified a north-south corridor extension of CR 455

A Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study is an environmental and engineering process used to document social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a proposed transportation improvement project.
