CPL workshop 19/9 – 8/10 2018

Fuglede Harbour and Tourism at Tissø – Kalundborgegnens Produktionsskole (KPS)

Tissø Viking MarkeT:

Tie workshop includes a taste of Viking life – we will produce jewellery as the Vikings did 1000 years ago in our region. Vikings used Tissø Lake as a trade area. Tiey came to Tissø via special ships/boats and we at KPS have built a copy of the famous Gogstad Viking Ship. Her name is Frigg and you will practice rowing her along with many other activities during your stay. Our workshop has two main categories – Boat hall construction and Blacksmithing. As fjnal event – we will all take part in Tissø Viking Market – selling the products we produce and telling stories about Odin and Tior, Loke and other Viking Gods and competing in Hne- fatafm (a Viking game like Chess). We will all be dressed in Viking clothes and have a lot of fun during the market weekend.

Plans during your sTay:

During the workshop we will visit a famous Blacksmith in Copenhagen to see the Blacksmith crafu. We also visit “Sagnlandet” in Lejre – a Viking centre – where we start up our storytelling. Fugledegaard – we row Frigg to Fugledegaard and have a guided tour around the Viking royal estate and the Viking centre.

skills:

You will be introduced and trained in basic knowledge of materials, calculation of lengths, various wood types and metal work as well as storytelling and other Viking related activities. You will train how to navigate a Viking ship like Frigg. Most of the work will take place at Søvang – the Harbour and around our house at Søvang 24.
