  • 15-Nov-2019 – I sent an email to Claudio suggesting we start an
  • perations working group.

– “The mandate would be setting up documentation infrastructure for shifts and computers in the control room. The software infrastructure for control room operations requires a significant amount of work.”

  • The verbal response shortly after was yes, form the working group, with

some good suggestions.

– Narrow the scope of “operations”. – Start the group with senior people leading. – Write down to goals of the WG (I see that my mandate is not coherent.)

  • Diana and Bruce started working on setting up the control room.
  • We are still working on the goals
  • We had our first meeting this week on Monday 9-Dec.

  • Identify and implement the technical aspects of operating the Icarus

detector from ROC-W and from remote control rooms.

– Hardware - computers, monitors – Software

  • Shift communications (zoom, slack)
  • DAQ communications (ssh tunnel, vpn, vnc, authentication)
  • DAQ software (run control, art daq, monitoring)
  • Event display
  • Be ready for cool down operations

– Display internal cryostat parameters – temperatures and LAr level – Operate DAQ to readout 6 tpc crates

  • This group will not determine when a shifter is qualified to take a
  • shift. Nor will it determine when a remote control room is ready for
  • shifters. Nor will it determine the shift quotas for collaborators.
