Need to test the utility of estimating stocks and flows of natural capital for improved decision-making
This one-year project will:
- Produce tangible outputs
- Demonstrate the value of this work, in a low-cost way
- Enable a collective conversation to advise on how we
progress this area in the longer term

Stocktake
Pull together case study info Review key domestic and international literature Collate info on how decisions currently are made, and who makes them
Case studies
Up to 3 case studies drawn from NRS agencies’ existing work programmes Case studies from business and Regional Councils Conceptual framework to guide case studies
Evaluation
Lessons learnt from case studies and stocktake Potential or upcoming work to use/align with (incl. Science Challenges) Develop options for next steps

December 2014 : Choice of case studies, ToR for Stocktake March 2015: Interim advice to inform annual plans August 2015: Options for next steps; incl. form, scale and scope

We invite business to get involved – there are opportunities to participate in the governance and deliverables!
Governance structures
Governance Board: We would like one further member from business on the Board. Would you like to be that person? Advisory Group: Want to become a member and help drive, structure, review and advise?
