  • This is a celebration for all of New York City, honoring an important city

landmark.

  • It should be monumental and inclusive of communities from both sides
  • f the bridge.

Community Feedback

  • It should include everyone who

helped make the bridge reopening possible and everyone who will be using it, including:

  • Community members
  • Elected representatives
  • Advocacy groups
  • Youth groups
  • Some event suggestions from past meetings: community parade, music,

dance, food, historical walking tours, art, photography, boat races and tours, bike races, fireworks, John J. Harvey Fireboat, and more.

  • May - Greenways & Blueways month
  • June - History month
  • July - Sports & Fitness month
  • August - Arts & Culture month
  • September - Back to School month
  • Organize an event for the opening festival: July 25, 2015
  • Organize an event(s) anytime during the year to celebrate the High

Work with Partnerships for Parks to organize an It’s My Park event Mark your calendars and spread the news!

Interested in holding an event?

  • Complete a proposal form
  • Available online at thehighbridge.org
  • Parks will work with you to obtain the

proper permits for your event

  • Permits can take up to 21 days
  • The earlier submitted, the better!
  • Please submit proposals for the Opening

Festival before April 25th

  • Approved events will be posted on the

Parks events calendar.

  • All events must be free and open to the

public.
