The CDG don’t only have a ‘competition’ component like the World Championships or Deaflympics, but also to participate in a friendly atmosphere, to meet other Deaf / hard of hearing athletes from other provinces and to lead an active lifestyle. Most importantly, to have fun!
TIMELINES – CDSA AGM 2018 TO PRESENT
- Developed the Memo of Understanding (MOU) agreement between CDSA
and 2020 CDG
- Received the survey data to lead the decisions on a list of sport events
- Developed the individual/team requirements including the medal counts
- Developed the 2020 CDG Sponsorship Package
- Submitted the grant proposals to Alberta Culture and Tourism & Alberta
Sport Connection
- Decided the registration costs based on grants
- Developed the online registration forms
- Developed the Technical rules documents for each sports
- Developed the booklet to list 2020 CDG information

registration forms including athlete information, PDSA Coaches, PDSA Chef de Missions, and PDSA Chaperones.

- University of Alberta Conference Services has
confirmed our booking 150 rooms (twin) for 300 athletes, PDSA Coaches, PDSA Chef de Missions, and PDSA Chaperones from May 11 to 16 (6 nights stay).
- The 2020 CDG Organizing Committee will take
care of accommodation costs.
- Final deadline for booking is March 10, 2020

Important Notes:
- If you choose not to stay at Thelma Chalifoux
Hall (Athletes Village), you will be responsible for the cost of your own accommodations and local transportation to/from the sporting venue.
- If number of people is more than 300, they will
have to pay for their own accommodation.

ELIGIBILITY:
Hearing Loss Participation in the competition is restricted to athletes that are Deaf and/or hard of hearing. To the contrary of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) that restricts participation for athletes with a hearing loss of at least 55 decibels, we encourage all participants that are Deaf and/or hard of hearing involved in the Deaf community to participate at the CDG. We leave the responsibility to PDSAs to explain to their participants if they are eligible or not of events sanctioned by the ICSD.
