Right from medical school days I’ve wanted to do

  • neurosurgery. Now that I have actually done an

attachment in it, I realise it’s not right for me. So what do I do? I definitely want to do surgery. All I need to know is what are the best runs to do and how do I get into the training programme as quickly as possible? Internal medicine sounds good but do I really want to be a medical registrar?

slide-5

Health Workforce NZ (HWNZ) responded & made it a requirement that . . .

  • All junior doctors must have

1.

access to career planning

2.

a career plan

  • Annual career report submitted to HWNZ
  • Hospital funding will be dependent on

meeting these requirements
