  3. School Improvement Goal During the 2017-2018 school year all teachers will incorporate reading anchor standards into their curriculum at least once per six day cycle to improve student performance on the reading anchor standards on the 2018 MCAS test so all students are within five percentage points of the state average. 5. Expected Outcomes ● All content area teachers will use the same strategies for finding key information in nonfiction text. ● A library of resources for all teachers will be developed and easily accessible. ● Identified students will receive interventions based on need. ● Teachers will design lessons based on each student’s individual needs.

  6. School Improvement Goal During the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years, students will improve their ability to write a constructed response and synthesize information from multiple texts, as measured by ELA MCAS results, so all students are within two percentage points of the state average. The media specialist will show students how to access materials online and annotate text online.

  8. ● The ELA department Head will model in the ELA classrooms and during curriculum meetings how to synthesize information across multiple texts. The focus will be on how to build ideas as students create a thesis based on multiple texts. ● Students will write constructed responses that include synthesis of information in each ELA unit.

  9. Expected Outcomes ● Baseline data will guide teachers in planning instruction. ● Students self assessment will guide student learning. ● Individual feedback will be given to each student. ● All Cameron students will learn the same online research skills. The research skills are in line with Framingham High School’s expectations. ● Teachers will build their capacity to deliver this instruction in all of their classes. ● Students will improve their writing skills with each unit they complete and will continue to increase their writing stamina over time. ● Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to cite evidence and draw conclusions using multiple sources in order to convey ideas and make meaning.
