Goals for this Boundary Move

• 1. Increase enrollment at Amistad to create space for class size

reduction on the east side of Kennewick.

• 2. Reduce the student population at Sage Crest to make space

for future growth.

as the highest priority followed by attempts to balance some of the ethnicity, poverty, and program issues after that.

School Choice Sample Criteria for Prioritizing

• Students who live outside of a school’s boundaries may request

transfer with the following order priority:

• The student’s boundary was moved from the school he/she previously

attended and he/she will be in the 5th grade for 2019-2020. Parents must provide transportation.

• The student lives in Kennewick School District but outside of the

school’s boundary. Parents must provide transportation.

• The student lives outside Kennewick School District (Out of Boundary

Request). Regular procedures followed. Parent must provide transportation.

School Choice

• Next School Indicator letters go out in late November. (K-4)
• Letters include school placement
• School choice procedure
• In-district transfers accepted until end of January.
• Decisions made on transfer requests in February .
• Transfer request decisions mailed home on February 22, 2019.
