Your poster should typically have the following contents: 1. Title (to be placed at the top centre of the poster) 2. Names of all authors with affiliations (corresponding author to be indicated, contact to be provided) 3. Introduction – objectives, context 4. Methods / Materials – theoretical models, experimental set up and procedures 5. Results of the study supported by graphs, tables, etc. 6. Discussion and conclusions – highlight significance of the findings 7. Acknowledgements and references 1& 2 3 6 5 4 7 Figure 1: Conventional layout for a poster. Long panel at top-center is title/author banner. Individual panels can be connected by numbers and arrows. Also, note the use of space between panels to achieve visual appeal. Additional information: 1. The maximum usable area provided on the display board for the poster is 1.2m (width) x 1.4m (height). This can be either landscape or portrait. So, your poster dimension should be 1 m x 1.2 m 2. The poster should be designed in an integrated manner covering all the contents listed above. Use colour, graphics, charts, and photos. Instructions for Poster Presentations: 1. You will be provided with a 40" by 60" poster board and push pins. 2. The posters will be displayed in conference hall for the entire symposium (11:00 to 16:30). All posters must be up by 11:15. Mention the location of poster. This will not take more than 15 minutes; do it at your convenience. 3. You may remove your poster materials after 16:30 Saturday afternoon. 4. Judges grade your presentation according to “ poster presentation evaluation sheet ”. You will be scheduled to be at your poster accordingly. Instructions for Abstract Submission 1. Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted by 17:30 Wednesday, 14/02/ 2018. 2. Use the on-line registration form. You must submit the abstract as a file in MSWord; make sure the file is free of viruses. The file name should include your initials and research title. Use 1" margins and Book Antiqua as the font. 3. Title and names should be in 12 point i. A title in bold ii. Author ` s name (Year, Major); for group projects, list presentor first. iii. Faculty mentor iv. For research projects: Advisor ` s Name (Department) v. For class projects: Course Instructor ` s Name (Course name) 4. Begin a new paragraph for the text of the abstract; 200 words or less. Use 10 point, single space, full-justification (i.e. - square both margins) and do not indent the first line. Your abstract should include: i. A sentence stating the objectives of the study ii. A brief summary of methods, if pertinent iii. A summary of the results that were obtained (if available) 5. Reference style: Citations in the text should follow the referencing style; List: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. Keep to the point, and don't try to cover too many things. Present only enough data to support your conclusions. On the other hand, make sure that you present sufficient data to support your conclusions.  When you begin to make your poster, first create a list of the visuals that you would use if you were describing your project with only the visuals . Write the text after you have created the list of visuals.  Before the poster session, rehearse a brief summary of your project. Many viewers will be in a hurry and will want a quick "guided tour" of your poster. Don't be afraid to point out uncertainties in your work; this is where you may get useful feedback.
