Completion of BLOG activities is NOT required. IT IS FULL of RESOURCES for the summer AND school year. We recommend having FUN. Cutting and tracing activities may be more appropriate

for your student over the summer while flash cards might be a fall and winter resource.

 Limit screen time and encourage creative play.  Build fine motor skills through active play with Legos,

clothes pins, play dough, cutting with scissors

 Counts the number of items in a group: 1-1  Knows letters and numbers are different

What can I do?

 Count objects around the house and in your

community.

 Practice counting and representing numbers 1-10

 Begins to identify letters and words in their environment and tries to

copy them

 Can hold a book carefully  Can write their name and write other letters

What can I do?

 Build stamina for working independently.  Spend 5-10 uninterrupted minutes a day drawing, play writing or

reading

What should students be able to do?

 Speaks clearly so other people can understand their

words What can I do?

 Use dinner time to practice conversation skills with the

entire family.

 Encourage students to tell you about their drawings

and create stories together.

What should students be able to do?

 Plays, share and take turns with other children.  Ask for help.  Uses words to solve problems and express feelings.  Manages feelings appropriately.  Uses bathroom and dresses self independently.

What can I do?

 Build structures, routines and daily responsibilities at home.  Prepare students to follow directions and understand consequences.

*Note: You may notice changes in behavior and emotional challenges throughout the year. This is common.
