  4. TA24 Consultation-Benchmark Councils Common Findings • Provision of specialist and/or general arts officers. • Staffed facilities. • Facilities for visual arts, crafts and performing arts. • Budget allocation for infrastructure and staff. • Development programs for arts and culture.

TA25 Community Consultation • Appreciate Parks and open spaces, native trees, gardens and believe the City is a desirable place to live. • Lack of staff/volunteers for arts and cultural activities – no dedicated staff to develop this area. • Lack of facility resources – no purpose built infrastructure. • Need to provide arts and cultural activities for the diverse demographics, particularly youth, seniors and CaLD.

  6. TA26 Community Consultation • Need for greater legibility, visibility and access to Town Centre and the cultural activities within. • Belmont Resource Centre is hidden, not well sign posted and somewhat forbidding.

  7. TA27 Community Consultation • Provision of classes and learning opportunities in visual arts and crafts. • More opportunities to exhibit. • Lack of understanding of the value of arts in the community.

  8. TA28 Community Consultation • Communication, marketing and publicity. • People enjoy performances, classes, exhibition, festivals and markets and travel regularly to various options outside of Belmont. • Purpose built, inviting and interactive museum.

  9. TA29 Current & New Initiatives • Term 3 Art Programs – 8 week acrylic – 8 weeks pastels • Pop ART Cafe – November – Food – Music – Board games – Art Activities
