Bylaws Update

  • State Party requires re-adoption of bylaws every two years
  • Minor changes are proposed to current bylaws:

○ Determine the number of Precinct Captains per precinct (2 or 3) every other year, instead of every year ○ Clarify the process for replacing senior elected officers who do not complete their full terms ○ Add new officer positions: Precinct Ops Deputy Chair, Beyond Arlington Deputy Chair, 3 more Tech & Data Vice-Chairs, 2 more Outreach Vice-Chairs, 3 Communications Vice-Chairs ○ Make conforming changes and correct minor errors

  • Proposed revisions must be reviewed at two meetings before they can

be adopted -- you’ll see this slide next month, when we will vote!

Caucus to Select Arlington Delegates to 8CD Convention & State Convention

  • Last month, Arlington Dems adopted rules for the caucus,

which will be held on April 18 at 12 pm

  • State Party provided updated guidance that necessitates

changes to the rules: – Changes make clear that each caucus voter will only vote for delegates/alternates who have declared for the voter’s preferred presidential candidate
