Steps/Actions that the school site administration have taken to ensure that all coaches are educated and aware of Sports Medicine/Health related issues. • Athletic Director/Athletic Trainer/Coaches follow recommended protocols for: Concussions, Heat illness and sudden cardiac arrest. • Athletic Director/Athletic Trainer/Coaches follow recommended protocols for heat & humidity indexes. • Ice is available at practices and games. • LHS & MHS have AED devices in stationary locations and with Athletic Trainers. • LHS & MHS have an “emergency action plan” for athletic events

  6. Currently, there is not an MJUSD Coaches Handbook .

  7. Student Athlete Transfer Documentation • Site Athletic Director maintains documentation on all transfer student athletes • Site Athletic Directors complete CIF transfer documents online prior to student participation in a practice or contest.

Athletic Clearance Documentation Required Prior to Student Participating In a Sport • Physical exam • Medical insurance coverage • Emergency Contact Information • “Informed Consent” form • Athletic Code of Conduct • Board Policies regarding extra curricular activities/athletics provided to students and parents in the Athletic Clearance Documentation (Board Policies need to be updated to reflect changes in high school athletics. Most policies have not been updated since 2008)
