  1. Anaerobic Digestion on Dairy Farms for Electrical Generation Williams Engineering Associates 18039 Blue Winged Court, Woodland, CA 95695 Cell: 805-459-2985 wmsengr@thegrid.net November 16, 2018

  2. CalBio – ABEC 2 West Star North Digester ▪ West Star North Digester consists of two covered lagoon cells with volumes of 21.7 million gallons (cell 1) and 9.9 million gallons (cell 2) along with a 1-MW engine-generator. ▪ Construction of these digesters was completed in 2017 along with start-up and commissioning using the flushed manure from 5761 manure equivalent milkers (MEM) as influent. Full operation commenced on February 13, 2018. www.calbioenergy.com

  3. CalBio – ABEC 2 West Star North Digester ▪ Through July 31, 2018 Average 500,000 cubic feet / day of biogas containing 60% methane which is approximately 87 cubic feet per MEM per day. ▪ Gross electrical production was 3,883,675 kwhrs for 3894 hours of operation averaging 997 KW. Parasitic load 62 KW or 6% , net power sold to PG&E 3,602,292 kwhrs. www.calbioenergy.com

  4. CalBio – ABEC 2 West Star North Digester Environmental benefits: ▪ Reduction of 18,859 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) equivalent greenhouse gas, principally methane ▪ Holding exhaust emissions to under 2 ppm of nitrous oxides (NOx) and 10 ppm carbon monoxide (CO)- well under California Air Resources Board (CARB) limits of 11 ppm NOx and 210 ppm CO. ▪ Hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) emissions @ 800 ppm in July while utilizing only the air injection system. A final iron sponge scrubbing results in H 2 S levels under 10 ppm going into the engine-generator. www.calbioenergy.com

  10. CalBio – ABEC 3 Lakeview Digester ▪ Lakeview covered lagoon digester - volume of 18.5 million gallons along with a 1-MW engine-generator, using the flushed manure from over 4800 manure equivalent milkers as influent ▪ averaged 407,000 cubic feet per day of biogas containing 61% methane which is approximately 85 cubic feet per cow per day. www.calbioenergy.com

  11. CalBio – ABEC 3 Lakeview Digester ▪ Gross electrical production over this period was 3,612,916 kwhrs for 3699 hrs, average 977 KW. ▪ The parasitic load was 46 KW or 4.7% , net power sold to PG&E totaled 3,443,986 kwhrs. ▪ Environmental benefits: ▪ reduction of 10,015 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) equivalent greenhouse gas ▪ exhaust emissions to under 3 ppm of nitrous oxides (NOx) and 10 ppm carbon monoxide (CO) www.calbioenergy.com

  15. CalBio – ABEC 4 CE&S Digester ▪ The CE&S covered lagoon digester with volume of 25.6 million gallons along with a 1-MW engine-generator from 6460 manure equivalent milkers ▪ Averaged 420,000 cubic feet per day of biogas containing 60% methane which is approximately 65 cubic feet per cow per day. www.calbioenergy.com

  16. CalBio – ABEC 4 CE&S Digester ▪ Gross electrical production 3,837,215 kwhrs for 3948 hours of operation averaging 972 KW. ▪ Parasitic load was 32 KW or 3.3% and the net power sold to PG&E totaled 3,710,235 kwhrs. ▪ Environmental benefits: ▪ Reduction of 11,012 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) equivalent greenhouse gas ▪ Exhaust emissions to under 6.4 ppm of nitrous oxides (NOx) and 57 ppm carbon monoxide (CO) www.calbioenergy.com

  17. CalBio – ABEC 4 CE&S Digester ▪ The environmental benefits of this project include the reduction of 11,012 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) equivalent greenhouse gas, principally methane along holding exhaust emissions to under 6.4 ppm of nitrous oxides (NOx) and 57 ppm carbon monoxide (CO) which are both well under California Air Resources Board (CARB) limits of 11 ppm NOx and 210 ppm CO. Progress has been made in limiting hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) emissions and thus prolonging the life of the engine-generator. The levels of H 2 S dropped from a high of 5000 ppm to under 100 ppm in June while utilizing only the air injection system. A final iron sponge scrubbing results in H 2 S levels under 7 ppm going into the engine-generator. www.calbioenergy.com
