It is now possible to combine data from more than one LS in a single model as though they were the same dataset Possibility of regional comparisons or UK-wide analysis If interested, discuss with the RSUs concerned when applying

Synthetic LS data (SYLLS)
Bespoke project datasets currently available for SLS, hopefully soon for ONS LS and NILS too Bespoke synthetic data behave like real data Allow refinement of syntax and models before visiting the safe-setting to use the LSs

Synthetic “spine” datasets now available for all three LSs Contain Census 2011 Teaching Microdata plus synthetic transitions back to 2001 Include variables such as religion, number of births, marital status and more Useful for teaching and learning about longitudinal analysis with the LSs Download via ‘Guides & Resources’ section
