Overview of the Recruitment Process

Online assessments tips
- Once you’ve filled out the eligibility form, you’ll be invited to complete the online
situational judgement tests bespoke to GSK
- These situations will assess whether you align to GSK’s values, so make sure you’re
aware of what their values are
- Don’t rush! You have a week to complete these tests, and you can pause it and come
back to it! You can also go back through and change any answers, and you aren’t timed.
- Always start by reading all the information, rather than evaluating it as you read
through it.
- Remember to reflect on your natural characteristics and personality. However, try to
also bear in mind skills and competencies that are sought after by GSK
- Practise! Use these resources to practise:

What is Strength-Based Testing?
- Strength Based Testing is assessing strengths that you use regularly, that you do well and
energises and motivates you.
- GSK use Strength based testing during the whole process, from the online testing, to the
application form, all the way to the assessment day,
- Strength based testing is used as a way of getting to know the candidate better on a
personal level
- Examples of Strength based questions:
- “Some people think it is necessary to act outside of
the best interests of patients. What do you think about this and why?”
- “How would you use planning and organisation to
succeed in your role at GSK?”
- “Have you ever done something differently the
second time around?”
How to prepare for Strength Based questions?
- Employers like GSK are looking for enthusiasm and authenticity in your answers
- Really know your strengths- what are you good at and what do you enjoy doing? Take the
test to find out your strengths: https://www.jobmi.com/home
- Just like in other interviews, you’ll need to include examples to back up and illustrate your
responses.
- Be honest when identifying your own weaknesses and explain how the strengths
compensated for this weakness.
- The interviewers will take note of your body language and tone of voice which shows your
authenticity.
- You can also be asked some technical questions, so you really need to know more about
GSK’s services and their position in the industry.
- With GSK, research the values of the company and align these with your experiences.
You can use the job description and the GSK website to prepare for this
- Interviewers are marking your answers based on how engaged and authentic you are, as
well as how capable you are.
How can you prepare?
- Research the company- their culture, their vision and values
- Practise the online tests by using the suggested practise links
- Practise strength based questions and consider your own experiences, and how you yourself
align with the GSK values
- Come prepared with some thought-provoking questions to ask to show your enthusiasm
