The Legislative and Advocacy committee keeps its ear to the ground on state and federal issues affecting supportive housing and its stakeholders. The committee keeps the membership abreast of proposed and pending legislation, changes in current funding and policies, administrative agency policy issues and lets us know when action is needed and develops advocacy campaigns as needed. If you’re an advocate or want to learn how to be an advocate this committee is for you.
The committee meets by phone on the second Thursday of each month at 9:00a.

One of the best ways to stay in the know with all things SHPA and permanent supportive housing is to join our standing committees. All committees meet by phone so that members from all over the state can join. A brief description of each one is below. Place a check next to the committee(s) for which you are interested in learning more or would like to join. At the 2019 Residents Conference SHPA launched new SHPA Resident
residents whose agencies are not members of SHPA, but residents want to be involved in advocacy and resident leadership activities. The membership connects resident’s leader to SHPA through trainings and volunteer activities at SHPA’s events.
