University Challenge now in it’s fifth year…

• What’s the same?
• Applicants are able to choose semester to enter and play as a team of 1, 2 or 3 students
• Open to all students currently studying a university level qualification either part time or full time
• Scoped advice client scenario
• Great prizes for students and $2,500 for the winning university
• What’s new?
• Insurance has become an explicit goal of the accumulator client
• Additional AMP support – teleconference prior to submissions with a planner development coach
• Academic suggestion to include super switching in client goals included again

Two parts to the University Challenge …

Part 1: Case Study

• Submission of a strategic discussion paper.
• Case study is based on a couple aged 37 and 33 with 2 children aged 1 and 3. They want advice on:
• Paying off mortgage
• Saving for University for the children
• Consolidating super funds and building up funds in their offset account
• Ensuring they are adequately insured
• Investing in line with their risk profile
• Templates, calculators and client information supplied from AMP.

Part 2: Finals Day (Top 5 teams)

• Held on Monday 26th October 2015 in AMP Circular Quay building.
• Two more formal assessments:
• Technical quiz in front of an AMP audience (20% of assessment)
• Present discussion paper advice to “client” (with a twist) + 10 minute topical question speech to the

judges (80% of assessment)

• Various professional development sessions when not doing the above.

Expose as many of your students as possible to the University Challenge using any of the following AMP promotional resources: 1. Powerpoint slides to promote to students through lectures/tutorials and/or learning portals. 2. E-Posters that can be emailed to all students and/or put on learning portal. 3. E-flyers given to student societies/posted on bulletin boards and can be distributed to students. 4. Coverage on student learning portals with links to the AMP University Challenge website & Facebook. 5. University Challenge representatives are available to speak at your lectures/tutorials or assist you to promote the challenge to current students 6.
