All fair representatives (alumni included) are expected to adhere to the NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counseling) principles of good practice:

  • You must stand behind the table at all times.

as a pennants, candy, etc.

  • You must stay for the duration of the fair.
  • Do not “wheel and deal” or “call out” to

students to get them to your table.

Breaking the Ice

  • A lot of students aren’t familiar with Kalamazoo

College and may not ask very informed questions

  • Be prepared to ask students questions as they

come to your table. Some icebreakers:

  • Are you looking at mostly small schools?
  • What subjects do you like in a high school?
  • What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
  • Sometimes only talking to a handful of

prospective students is a good night
