Aliyah Figures

2015 was the peak year for Aliyah for the past 12 years. There has been a 16% decrease in Aliyah this year as opposed to last year: 33% reducUon from Ukraine due to stability in the area 30% reducUon from France owing to a feeling of security Brazil and Venezuela have shown a sharp increase in Aliyah figures due to the difficult economic and poliUcal situaUon there.

Since 1948 – 105,246 Olim came from France From 1996-2012 – 1,500-2,200 came annually 2013 – 3,297 Olim 2014 – 7,238 Olim 2015 – 7,800 Olim MoUvaUons for Aliyah: Insecurity as Jews, financial and educaUonal concerns. Rise in Muslim presence and AnU-SemiUsm. Jewish community commiced and connected to Israel.

“WINGS” PROGRAM

The Aliyah and AbsorpUon commicee of the Knesset has formed a “round table” program for the benefit of lone Olim soldiers, including:

  • 1. Expansion of the lone solders assistance program with various government offices
  • 2. Increasing the number of parUcipants in the pre-discharge seminar and workshop
  • 3. CreaUng a wide forum of various organizaUons working with lone soldiers

ParUcipants in 2016: 36% from North America 32% from the FSU 18% from Western Europe, of which 10% are from France 6% from LaUn America Others from Australia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Iran, India and even Japan
