Aim

To ensure:

  • Everything that can reasonably be done to alleviate the problems which

local communities are raising is in fact being done, and;

  • The mechanisms which Gatwick has adopted for providing information to

the local community and for handling complaints have been fully adequate for the task

  • Recommendation 01 – Airbus 320 family, retro-fitting of modification
  • Recommendation 05 – Increasing the height of commencement of

Continuous Descent Arrival (CDA) from 6,000 ft to 7,000 ft

  • Recommendation 10 – widening of arrivals swathe to the east and west of

the airport

  • Recommendation 18 – Noise Management Board

Noise Management Board (NMB)

  • Proposed Independent Chairman – Bo Redeborn. Group no larger than 10-

12 members

  • Membership proposed – CAA, NATS, DfT, ANS, Airline, Chair of GATCOM,

East and West Community Representatives, two County Council representatives

  • Invite sent out for County Council nominations, as well as nominations

through Parish, Town and Borough councils for Community Representatives

  • Planning meeting to be held 18th May 2016, with first NMB scheduled for

21st June 2016
