The current proposed designation shifts the
motorway by about 500m to the west just above my yards, taking out most of my paddocks adjacent to the yards
SLIDE 5
Foals are weaned from their mothers at 5-6
months of age. This involves separating the mothers and the foals in the yards.
The current route of the motorway would
disrupt this process by-
- Making it impossible to keep foals and mothers in
the paddocks above the yard
- The noise from the motorway would unsettle the
weaning process

At any one time we have more than a dozen
horses of various ages either needing handling, or training. The current proposed site of the motorway would make it difficult to bring these horses into the yards every day.
To carry on with the current training regime
we need an underpass big enough to ride and also get trucks/diggers through

We have successfully competed in
International Events.
- NZ team placed 6th in the recent endurance racing
event in Abu Dhabi
- Horses have been sold both in NZ and overseas.

I’m NOT against the motorway per say. but
I’m against it as it is proposed. I suggest as a compromise:
Shift the route of the proposed motorway
approx.150m further uphill ( i.e. to the east)
- n the northern side of our property and
- approx. 70m on the southern side of our
property.
