7 TH GRADE! It’s time to pick your classes for 7 th Grade! This presentation will walk you through your choices and give you information to bring home. You’ll be ready to talk to your family and decide what classes you want next year!

ALL 7 TH GRADERS TAKE… Science Social Studies

AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION OR ATHLETICS Dance may be taken in place of PE.

TIME TO MAKE SOME CHOICES!

CHOICE SHEETS • Every 6 th grader will receive a choice sheet. • Your family will be able to pick yours up at the parent night on February 21 st . • Be sure to fill out all the choices. • Bring it back to your counselor or homeroom teacher by February 24 th . • You will enter your choices online during the week of February 27 th . Your counselors will be there to help!

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS AND READING • Choice 1 • 7 th English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) • Choice 2 • 7 th English Language Arts and Reading Pre-AP • Do you love READING and WRITING ? or • Do you have a natural talent for it?!?

MATH • Choice 1 • 7 th Math • Choice 2 • Pre-Algebra • Do you love MATH ? or • Do you have a natural talent for it?!?

ELECTIVES!

ELECTIVES! 7 th Graders will have ONE elective. Use your choice sheet to rank your top THREE choices.

SPECIAL ELECTIVES SOME ELECTIVES HAVE PRE-REQUISITES • Depending on what classes you’re taking this year, you may be eligible to earn high school credit. • Art for High School Credit – Are you in Art this year? • Choir for High School Credit – Are you in Choir this year? • Dance 2 and Theatre Arts 2 – Are you in Dance this year? Theatre? • AVID – An application is required. • LEGO robotics – Did you take it this year? You may not take it again.

WHAT’S NEXT? • Come to parent night at the middle school on February 21 st . • Can’t make it? You still get to fill out a choice sheet. • Talk to your family and complete the choice sheet. • Turn your completed choice sheets in to your counselor or advisory teacher by February 24 th .
