Timescales

We’re still finding substantial numbers of defects As the role of this system is key to:

Safeguarding supplies to customers Receiving data from Market Participants

We’ve delayed the system go-live date from September 2014 to April 2015 And revised the high-level timescales as per the next slide We’ll shortly include these revised timescales in an industry update

Initial Type Test Progress

Initial EDT and EDL type tests are complete We think that the DIR and LS command response issue has been fixed We’ve successfully tested it with some of suppliers affected We had some issues with allowing passive FTP for EDT

We think these are now fixed And have re-tested with some of the suppliers affected

Still some environment-specific performance issues

Update on Circuit Connectivity Tests

EBS Market Participant Access document circulated MPs programming firewall + ACL

60% have confirmed complete

EDT and EDL connectivity test scripts circulated DNS name and IP addresses finalised and circulated Proxy solution in place at Wokingham and Warwick Commenced circuit connectivity tests with MPs

Next Steps

Will continue informal type-testing as appropriate

Gain confidence that problems are fixed Ad-hoc testing

Address performance issues Final type-testing with a resilient EBS environment to test handling of rapid National Grid end server failover etc. Looking for confirmation from MPs that they have complete their firewall and ACL changes Progress circuit connectivity tests with MPs

Supplier connectivity to EBS test system We’re now ready to configure the VPNs to allow suppliers access to the test EDL* and EDT* services

  • ver the internet

Need to determine the first tranche of suppliers who will shortly need connectivity

Have you firm plans to develop EDL* or EDT* clients? And you don’t have an ISDN connection to National Grid (which you’ll still need for remote EDL & EDT testing)

Date of next meeting

We propose that the next meeting is on Thursday 20th March Suggest deciding whether meeting is physical or virtual nearer the time

Like we did for the last couple of meetings Are you in agreement with this approach?

Any Other Business

To help us plan our testing, please can we have a view as to how many market participants intend using DNS with EBS EDT? Given that EBS will have a single production virtual ip address Any Other Business?
